## Frequently Asked Questions

### Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is opened, cropped and saved inside your browser, so it never leaves your device. The page and its image decoders load from our site like any other web page, but your file is not sent to us or anyone else.

### Can I crop to an exact pixel size or aspect ratio?

Yes. Pick Free, Original, 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 16:9 or 9:16, then drag the box or type X, Y, width and height in real image pixels. The box and the numbers stay in sync, and the ratio stays locked while you resize.

### Does cropping reduce the image quality?

The crop is cut from the full-resolution image with no scaling, so you keep every pixel inside the box. The result is then saved again: PNG is lossless, while JPG and WebP are saved at high quality (92 out of 100), which looks the same as the original but is not bit-for-bit identical.

### Which formats can I crop and save?

Any image your browser can open, including JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and GIF. By default the crop is saved in the same format (JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF), or you can choose JPG, PNG or WebP. Formats the tool cannot write back, such as GIF or BMP, are saved as PNG, and animated GIFs keep only their first frame.

### Is there a size limit?

Files can be up to 100 MB and 100 megapixels. On iPhone and iPad the cropped area can be up to about 16.7 megapixels, because Safari there cannot reliably draw larger images; the tool tells you if your crop is too big instead of saving a blank file.

### Does the cropped image keep its EXIF data?

No. Photo metadata such as camera details and GPS location is not copied into the cropped file. The photo's orientation is applied before cropping, so the result is still the right way up.
