You can save to JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or JPEG XL (JXL). Inputs can be any of those, plus GIF and BMP and anything else your browser can open. Animated GIFs are converted from their first frame. ### Are my images uploaded to a server? No. Conversion runs in your browser. For AVIF and JXL, and for formats your browser can't handle natively, the page downloads its encoder files from dragbin.com, but your images themselves are never sent anywhere. ### What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG? JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Choose PNG, WebP, AVIF or JXL if you need to keep them transparent. ### How is this different from the image compressor? This tool changes the file format, for example PNG to WebP. The image compressor keeps the format and focuses on making the file smaller.
