Your files never leave your device. The encoders are downloaded from dragbin.com the first time you need them: the MP3 encoder when you save an MP3, and an AAC encoder only if your browser lacks its own.

## Work privately, then store privately with DragBin

Processing a file in your browser keeps it private in the moment. The files you keep and share need that same guarantee for the long run. DragBin protects files with [client side](/client-side-encryption/), [quantum resistant encryption](/post-quantum-encryption/) (ML-KEM + AES-256) keeping sensitive data private with a [zero knowledge](/zero-knowledge-encryption/) security architecture.

## How to Merge Audio Files

Three steps. You can change the order or the settings and merge again as often as you like.

Step 1

Add two or more audio files, then drag them (or use the arrow buttons) into the order you want.

Step 2

Choose a gap of silence or a crossfade between clips, decide whether to match their volumes, and pick an output format.

Step 3

Press Merge, listen to the result, and download it.

## Why Use This Audio Joiner?

It joins clips cleanly, without an account, a watermark, an upload or an install.

### Any Order You Like

Drag clips with a mouse, or move them with buttons on a phone or keyboard.

### Gaps or Crossfades

Leave up to 5 seconds of silence between clips, or blend each one into the next.

### Mixed Formats Welcome

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC can go in the same merge. Rates and channels are matched for you.

## Private by Design

Your recordings are joined on your own device and are never sent to a server.

### Stays on Your Device

Decoding, joining and encoding happen in your browser tab. Only the tool's code and encoders download, from dragbin.com.

### Even Out Levels

Optionally raise quieter clips so every part peaks at the same level.

### Nothing to Install

Works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari 26 or later.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Are my audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are decoded, joined and encoded inside your browser tab and never sent to a server. The page does download its own code from dragbin.com, including the MP3 encoder the first time you save an MP3, and an AAC encoder if your browser doesn't have one built in.

### Which files can I merge, and can they be different formats?

MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, Opus and FLAC files all work, as does the soundtrack of MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM videos. You can mix them freely. Every clip is converted to 48 kHz stereo before joining, so mono recordings and files with different sample rates line up without any extra steps.

### What's the difference between a gap and a crossfade?

A gap puts up to 5 seconds of silence between clips. A crossfade overlaps the end of one clip with the start of the next for up to 5 seconds, fading one out as the other fades in at a steady loudness. A crossfade is never longer than half of either clip, so very short clips get a shorter fade.

### How long can the merged file be?

Up to 20 minutes on a computer and 5 minutes on a phone or tablet. The whole recording is held in memory while it's built, so longer files could crash the browser tab. The total is checked before any decoding starts.

### What does "Match clip volumes" do?

It turns quieter clips up so each clip's loudest moment matches the peak of the loudest clip. Nothing is made louder than your loudest file already is. That evens out recordings made at very different levels. It matches peaks, not perceived loudness, so a heavily compressed track can still sound louder than a quiet, dynamic one.

### Why doesn't it work in my browser?

Decoding compressed audio needs the WebCodecs audio features found in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox on a computer and Safari 26 or later. Older Safari versions and Firefox for Android don't have them, so compressed files such as MP3 or M4A can't be read there (WAV files may still work). Opus output only appears if your browser can encode it.
