No. Your file is decoded, cleaned and re-encoded inside your browser tab, and the audio is never sent to a server. On first use the page downloads the RNNoise noise-reduction engine (about 3 MB) from dragbin.com, plus the MP3 or AAC encoder if you pick one of those formats. Your browser caches them after that. ### What kind of noise does it remove? Steady background sound behind a voice: hiss, hum, fans, air conditioning, traffic rumble and general room noise. RNNoise is a small neural network trained on speech, so it works best on spoken recordings such as voice notes, interviews, lectures and podcasts. It does not remove echo or reverb, and it can't separate one voice from other people talking. ### Does it work on music or very noisy recordings? Results are mixed. The model treats sustained instruments much like noise, so music can come out muffled or thin. When the noise is as loud as the voice, the speech can sound watery or clipped. Lowering the strength slider blends some of the original back in, which usually sounds more natural. ### What does the strength slider do? It sets how much of the cleaned audio ends up in the file. At 100% you get the fully denoised version. At 70%, for example, the output is 70% cleaned and 30% original, lined up sample for sample, which softens artefacts while still reducing most of the noise. ### Which files work, and how long can they be? MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG/Opus and FLAC, plus the audio track of MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos (the result is audio only).
