No. The video is decoded, marked and re-encoded inside your browser tab, and the result is saved straight to your device. If the soundtrack has to be converted to AAC, the page loads its audio encoder from dragbin.com, but your video and logo are never sent. ### Does adding a watermark lower the video quality? Every frame has to be re-encoded to burn the mark in, so the result is not a bit-for-bit copy. It is saved as an H.264 MP4 at a high quality setting, at the original resolution (rounded down to an even number of pixels if needed, which H.264 requires). The file can come out larger or smaller than the one you started with. AAC and MP3 sound is copied unchanged. ### Can the watermark appear for only part of the video? Yes. Tick the option to show it for part of the video, then drag the start and end handles or type exact times. The preview hides the mark whenever the playhead is outside that window, exactly as the finished file will. ### Can I use my logo with a transparent background? Yes. Pick a PNG, WebP or SVG logo. Transparent areas stay transparent, so only the logo itself lands on the video, and the opacity slider makes the whole mark more or less see-through. ### Which browsers does it work in? It needs WebCodecs, which current Chrome, Edge, Firefox on a computer and Safari 16.4 or later have. Firefox for Android doesn't yet. Computers can handle files up to 2 GB and phones and tablets up to 500 MB. HEVC (H.265) videos only open where the browser can decode them, which usually means Safari or Chrome and Edge on hardware that supports it. ### Can someone remove the watermark afterwards? The mark is drawn into the picture itself, so it can't be switched off like a subtitle track. A mark in one corner can still be cropped or blurred out, though.
